A motorist stopped in at Station One and reported he thought smoke was coming from the exhaust vents from the Dairy Queen on Elevator Road. Assistant Chief Ken O'Dell drove over to take and look and when he found the building was full of smoke, he had dispatch tone out for a working structure fire. Firefighters found the fire in the grill area and quickly put it out. The roof and basement were also checked for fire extension. Positive pressure fans were used to rid the smoke from the Dairy Queen as well as the business next door to it in the strip mall.
