Lightning Damages Roscoe Home
April 29, thunderstorms rolled through the fire district and lightning struck a home on Thistleridge Road. The lightning bolt first appears to have hit the peak of the roof and before it was over, three floors of the home had damage.
In the attic room, besides leaving a hole in the roof, the percussion from the strike must have blown out a large 3'x5' dormer window as well as all the soffits around the roof. The damage then traveled down into the master bedroom and bathroom. Wires melted together in a bathroom wall, nails were popped all over the wall, and the ceilings fell. The damage didn't stop there - several ceilings on the first floor also sustained large cracks.
There was surprisingly no fire. The residents were home at the time and other than being shook up were not injured.
