Here's some recent accidents. We've had too many serious ones. Please also be mindful there is construction out on I-90 and at the intersection of Hwy 173 and Hwy 251.

Harlem-Roscoe And South Beloit Fire responded to a two vehicle accident on I-90 just south of Hwy 75 after a Honda CRX crashed into the rear of a semi truck that was stopped in traffic. The force of the crash sent the Honda into the median. The driver of a Honda CRX was airlifted to Rockford Memorial Hospital by React Helicopter. The semi driver was unhurt.

Harlem-Roscoe Fire would use all four of their ambulances to transport five patients involved in a 4-car accident on hwy 173 on April 29. It seems the driver of a Mitshubishi Montaro was heading west on Hwy. 173 when he rear-ended a Toyota Matrix. The Matrix was pushed into a Chrysler Pacifica and it into a Toyota Venza. A juvenile was extricated from the Matrix and was transported by ambulance along with the driver and another passenger from the Matrix. The drivers of the Montaro and the Pacifica were also transported to the hospital. The driver and passenger of the Toyota Venza signed off.

Three Hononegah High School students were involved in a one-car rollover on Southgate Rd. in Roscoe. The driver was prounounced dead at the scene. Two passengers that had been ejected from the Ford Mustang were transported to the hospital; one by helicopter and one by ambulance.

Ford Ram vs Ford Taurus accident on I-90. The driver of the Taurus was extricated and airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. The driver and three passengers in the Ram were also transported to the hospital; three by ambulance and one that had been ejected from the vehicle was airlifted by helicopter and was later prounounced dead at the hospital. South Beloit Fire and Rockton Fire assisted with the call.

Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters responded mutual aid to assist North Park Fire with a call where a car had crashed into a home on Edington trapping a juvenile in his bed. With permission from North Park acting Chief Joel Hallstrom, Lt. Wolfe snapped a couple pictures after Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters assisted North Park Firefighters with the sucessful extrication of the juvenile.
