Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters were rousted from their beds as the tones went off at 3:22 am for a structure fire on Stamford Lane in Roscoe. The rear of the 2-story home was fully involved with fire when units arrived. Firefighters made an aggressive attack and with the help of the aerial's hose line, the fire was extinguished. Firefighters then spent a couple hours overhauling both floors of the home to reach all the hot spots, and the investigation began. H-R Fire Investigator Capt. Mike Drost believes the fire to be electrical and started at the main meter. Three residents were outside and safe when firefighters arrived - one received some oxygen on scene. A family pet cat was rescued and also given oxygen. Rockton Fire also assisted on scene.
