The sound of breaking glass awakened a resident on Mark Drive in Roscoe early morning on July 1. The resident then saw fire through the kitchen window and called 9-1-1. He and his wife were safely outside when fire trucks arrived to find the back side of the home and part of tthe roof burning. Firefighters made an aggressive attack, but the home sustained major damage from the fire. It appears the fire started on the back porch and had climbed the back outside wall into the attic before the resident even knew his home was on fire. The culprit - the barbecue grill on the back deck.
